Message from Mrs. Haslam - Project Lit Coordinator
My name is Aimee Haslam, and I am a sixth grade English teacher at E.B. Stanley Middle School. My goal as an educator is to help all students become proficient, passionate readers who see the joy and value of reading.
E.B. Stanley is a proud member of the PROJECT LIT COMMUNITY. Project LIT is a national, grassroots literacy movement increasing access to high-quality, culturally relevant books and promoting a love of reading in communities. Project LIT sites host book clubs throughout the year in order to bring students, parents, and community members together to discuss and celebrate outstanding new literature.
The Project LIT Abingdon chapter would love for you to join us! Our first read is Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes. Our school library has copies available for checkout. All you have to do is read the book and join us on Thursday, September 13th at 7:30 a.m. in the E.B. Stanley library. We will enjoy coffee and donuts, discuss the book, and play a book-related trivia game!
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions about Ghost Boys or Project LIT. If you and/or your child would like to participate, please give me a shout at firstname.lastname@example.org so I can send along more specifics.
We also have t-shirts for sale to support the purchase of more books! These are only $10. Email me to place your order.
