Jr. Washington County Community Scholars Forms Due

Junior Washington County Community Scholars (JWCCS) is a program sponsored by Washington County Public Schools. The goal is to produce highly qualified students who value the importance of citizenship and service to the community. Students will be recognized for their participation in JWCCS at the end of the year.

To qualify, students must:


  • Service: Complete eight (8) hours of community service and submit documentation (forms are located in the Guidance Department).


  • Grades: Maintain a "B" average


  • Attendance: Cannot miss more than nine (9) days of school (excused and /or unexcused absences).


  • Discipline: Have no more than three (3) office disciplinary referrals and zero (0) out of school suspensions.

Volleyball Open Gym
Volleyball Open Gym will be held each Wednesday after school until 5:00 p.m.  Students who wish to participate must have a ride home at 5:00 p.m.

Students do not need to have a physical form on file for Open Gym.  

Tryouts will be held May 20th to 24th.  Students must have a physical form on file to participate in tryouts.

Students who plan to participate in any sport next year must have a physical form on file that is dated after May 1st.  Physical forms must be filed yearly and to ensure the form is good for all of next year, it is best to get a physical after May 1st.

Join us on April 11th for our STEAM Night.  This will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will end at approximately 7:00 p.m.  We will have a Magic of Science Show and various booths and tables by our students.  Light refreshments will also be available.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Band Spring Concert at the Higher Education Center
Join us for this great performance!   After each grade level performs, they will be free to leave or to stay and watch the others.  

The performance will begin at 3:00 p.m. and should be finished by 4:30 p.m.  The Abingdon High School band will perform at 5:00 p.m.
