Remote Learning Day Guidelines

During the 2023-2024 school year, Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) has the option for Remote Learning Days.  It is possible that WCPS may utilize remote learning days and will try to announce this as far ahead of time as feasible.

"Remote Learning Day" will be announced if instruction is going to be provided during an unscheduled closure of a school or schools.
"Schools Closed" will be announced if instruction is not going to be provided during an unscheduled closure of a school or schools.

Classroom teachers will communicate with students about the processes they will use to facilitate their classes.

A "Remote Learning Day" will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. students are to engage in each class/subject instruction including watching videos, engaging in synchronous (live by Google Meet or other video platform) instruction if offered, and complete all class/subject assignments.

Between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. teachers will be available for students through Google Meet or other video platform (provided by the teacher) or through email communication to clarify instructional content and material and answer student questions.

Between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., students should log into Schoology or classes as assigned.  Attendance/absences will be recorded.

Students who have limited or no internet access are to complete and return instructional materials/activities as provided.

Students will need to take home each day their Chromebook and needed classroom materials.

If you have questions, please contact your student's teacher.
